About Us

Vermillion Newfoundlands

We began our adventure when we moved to central Ohio 18 years ago and chose the Newfoundland as a pet for our country home.   Though originally from the Vermilion area in northern Ohio, our Newfy name is actually our last name and we do live closer to the Columbus area.  We adopted our first Newfoundland in 2007 and she lived up to everything good that we ever read about the breed and so much more!  We very quickly realized how amazing their temperment truly is and watched as their reputation of being the "Nanny" dog came to life in our home,         Eventually, after working in business alongside breeding for many years, it was time to follow my dream of growing as a breeder.

We care for our carefully selected dogs on seven acres and they thrive in our growing family environment.  All puppies are raised in our home and are very well socialized by our large family. We have 5 children and in addition to our Newfoundlands we have both indoor and outdoor cats and a pet mouse named Rover.  While we both focus on breed health and development, Scott is also a High School History teacher and Basketball Coach.

We do allow visitors as well as introducing anyone to the Newfoundland breed, though we do wait until any litter is a minimum of 4 weeks old before we allow pup visits.
