About Us

Vermillion Newfoundlands

We began our adventure when we moved to central Ohio 16 years ago and chose the Newfoundland as a pet for our country home.   Though originally from the Vermilion area in northern Ohio, our Newfy name is actually our last name and we live closer to the Columbus area.  We adopted our first Newfoundland in 2007 and she lived up to everything good that we ever read about the breed and so much more!  After working in business alongside breeding for multipe years it was time to follow my dream of growing as a breeder and to stay at home full time to do si with the benefit of being there for my young children.  My third child was the first that did not have to go to a babysitter while i was away at work.   Breeding made another dream of ours possible.  We always wanted to adopt a child in need from a third world counrty whom could never had a chance like they would here in the US and with us.   The income we were geting from our pup sales all went towards adopting our precious Illiana from Bulgaria at age 7.   If we had not adopted her she would of been thrown out on the streets by age 13, even with her disability!  We soon realized the Newfoundland temperament was one of a kind. We fell in love their gentle nature, calm personalities and oohh sooo cuddable size.  We care for our carefully selected dogs on seven acres and they thrive in our growing family environment.  All puppies are raised in our home and are very well socialized by our large family. We have 5 children and in addition to our Newfoundlands we have both indoor and outdoor cats a ferret and a pet mouse named Rover.  Other than breed, Scott is a High School History teacher and Basketball Coach.

Though during the first few weeks of any litter we are usually too pre-occupied, we do allow visitors as well as introducing anyone to the Newfoundland breed.
